Our Purpose

I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these of mine, you did for me.  Matthew 25:40

We demonstrate God’s love, show mercy and evangelize to:

those inside our church community; and
those outside in our local communities.

We are the face of Christ and we have a mission to serve the widows, orphans, weak and the lost and share the gospel of hope and redemption to those who seek and yearn to fill the emptiness in their lives, the God hole that we all have in our hearts reserved only for Him. We do this by providing for the physical needs so that we can share and provide for their spiritual needs.

Our goal is to see all our ministry teams working with each other to share the gospel and fulfill the great commission. To do this we would like to involve as many of Church of the Redeemer’s members as possible in the mercy and outreach efforts of this team to share the gospel with the lost and seeking.

What We Do

A Helping Hand in Our Church

Our mercy ministry provides hands on intervention to our church family and to the great Union County community.  As a team, we work together with the deacons to care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those that God has placed in relationship with us.

Those in our church community are offered assistance in times of hardship or crisis. This can be financial which could also include counseling in finances, encouragement and accountability. It can also take the form of emotional and spiritual help as well. The Care Team can also become part of the assistance that is offered.

Those outside the church are usually referred to our local agencies that we partner with for financial needs. We have a list of local agencies and their services and will refer them to the proper agency. If we have a relationship with people through our car care ministry, we may consider helping them through the mercy ministry.

A Helping Hand in our Community through Outreach

Church of the Redeemer partners with several ministries and agencies in Union County to do outreach and assist them with the services and ministry they provide to our community.

Our current relationships are:

Monroe HELP Crisis Pregnancy Center: We participate in their Annual Banquet for Life, baby bottle drive, Walk-a-Thon, collection of items needed on a monthly basis, and by volunteering at the center. Please visit their website for more information: www.monroehelpcpc.net/

Union County Community Shelter: We participate with UCCS by preparing and serving evening meals approximately every other month. This is an opportunity to not only feed the body of our community poor, but also to feed their spirits. If you, your family, life group, Bible study or any other group is interested in helping with the meals, please sign up on the link provided.  All the information needed is located here on and also on their website: http://www.unionshelter.org/

Turning Point of Union County and The Tree House Children’s Advocacy Center: Due to the confidential nature of these services please visit their website for more information. There are volunteer opportunities available as well as events that we can participate in. As these are announced you will find them listed on the Mercy Ministry outreach table in our church lobby.  Visit their website for more information regarding their services at http://www.turntoday.net/

Good News Club: We have several volunteers who have been trained and participate at Stallings Elementary School in sharing the gospel after school. Please visit their website for a description of “What is a Good News Club?”  http://www.cefonline.com/good-news-clubs
